Pre-Mozart Award of Beginnings
This Musicianship Award is in honor of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who was a child prodigy known for his childlike joy of music.
In order to earn this award, you will need to complete and master the theory and technical skills listed below. You may complete these skills in any order. I want you to succeed as much as you do so I will help you every step of the way.
Complete the lesson book for Piano Adventures Primer or My First Piano Adventures A, B, and C.
*Transfer students have use an equivalent primer method book.
- Piano Key Names
2 Black Keys – “Dog house” CDE
3 Black Keys – “Garage” FGAB
- Treble (G) Clef Line Names – E G B D F
- Bass (F) Clef Names – G B D F A
- Basic Rhythm Symbols – Whole, Half, Quarter notes and rests
Technique
1 Major 5 finger pattern with tonic triad – C G D A
2 Hand over hand tonic triad. Major – C G D A
Harmonization
1 Use tonic and dominant to harmonize a 5 finger pattern – C G D A
2 Play a right hand melody and harmonize with tonic and dominant in the left hand.
3 Play your melody and harmonization in these keys – C G D A
